University Chaplaincy & Leicester Catholic Students
We provide Catholic Chaplaincy services to both De Montfort University and the University of Leicester. Fr David Rocks OP is the Catholic Chaplain to both universities in Leicester. He is assisted by Fr Matthew Jarvis OP, who is the Chaplain to Leicester Catholic Students.
Leicester Catholic Students is a hub for students from both universities to make new friends, find out more about Catholicism, and put faith and prayer into action. Whether a lifelong Catholic or someone just looking to find out more, our door is always open to new members.
There is a wide range of events throughout the year, from talks to socials and prayer events. There is a Student Mass every Sunday at 7pm, which is followed by a social once a month, at Holy Cross Priory Church. Students can be found at all of the other Masses too.
Many of our events take place at Holy Cross, but we also work with the Catholic Societies (CathSocs) at both universities to host events on campus, including Catholic Prayer on Wednesdays (3pm DMU Chaplaincy, Portland building; 4pm UoL Gatehouse Chaplaincy).
